St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just about green beer or shamrocks — at least not where we celebrate it here.
For us, it’s become one of those community days that’s fun, laid-back, and just a little bit extra.
Every year we get involved with the St. Patrick’s Day celebration through NABOR — and honestly? It’s one of the good ones.
It’s not about being Irish.
It’s about walking together.Laughing together.Showing up for the neighborhood. And grabbing a few laughs while we’re at it.

🍀 Prepping for the Day
This one doesn’t just happen on the day of.
It takes a little setup.
We spend time thinking about how we’re going to show up in the community, whether that’s:
picking fun green gear
coordinating little giveaways and treats
figuring out the route we’re going to walk
getting everyone together and actually showing up
For a community event like this, preparation is part of the fun.
You get to see how much people actually care about something simple — a walk through the streets with good energy, good people, and a bit of Irish spirit.
And while some people think preparation sounds boring… it’s really one of those things that gets people talking, joking, laughing, and connecting even before the event starts.
👟 Walking the Parade Route
Once the day comes, it’s all about being present.
We walk the route with the rest of the NABOR crew — neighbors, friends, families, local businesses, and other folks from all parts of Southwest Florida.
The route isn’t super long or fancy.
But that’s the point.
It’s relaxed.
It’s just enough to get people moving, smiling, and interacting.
Some people bring strollers. Some bring dogs. Some bring friends they bumped into on the way.
And everyone’s wearing something green — whether it’s a shirt, hat, socks, or just a little streak of color.
That part? It never gets old.
🎉 The Vibes Along the Way
If you ask me what makes this event stick with people, it’s not one big moment.
It’s the little ones.
Like:
🍀 neighbors cheering you on
🍀 kids laughing at the jokes
🍀 people high-fiving as you walk by
🍀 that feeling when you’re part of a group move through the neighborhood
It’s the kind of event where you feel included.
You don’t have to be “into St. Patrick’s Day” — you just have to be down to share the energy and be part of something fun.
📍 Community First
What’s cool about events like this is how they pull you into the neighborhood in a way nothing else does.
You don’t sit in your car.
You don’t scroll on your phone.
You walk with people. You wave. You chat. You laugh.
And you do it all under the unspoken understanding that this is what community looks like.
Not forced. Not staged.
Just people agreeing to be together for a little while.
And to celebrate in a way that feels right for this area.
🔗 Community Stories (More Like This)
📍 If you live here, you know…
These events are special not because they’re big.
But because people show up.
They walk. They smile. They laugh. They spend a moment with somebody else.
That’s what makes it good.
That’s community.
