If you live in Southwest Florida, you already know back-to-school season hits different.
It’s exciting… but it’s also stressful.
Because even if you’re doing “okay,” the costs add up FAST.
Backpacks.Supplies.Shoes.Extra stuff the school asks for.And if you’ve got more than one kid? Forget it.
That’s why we did this.

Two years in a row, we hosted a school supply giveaway right out of Three Oaks Park.
🎒 Backpacks📓 Notebooks✏️ SuppliesAnd a bunch of kids who were honestly just happy to be there.
Nothing crazy.
Just a simple way to give back to the community we live in.
💛 Why we wanted to do it
A lot of people don’t realize how many families are out here grinding.
Not asking for handouts. Not looking for attention.Just working hard and trying to make things happen.
And then school starts and suddenly you’ve got another big expense.
So the whole idea was:
Let’s help where we can.
Not with everything.
But with something.
Because sometimes “something” is exactly what a family needs to breathe a little.
🤝 No sponsors. Just us.
This is what made it feel even more real.
We didn’t have sponsors. No big company. No donations from some huge group.
It was just me and my partner — and she’s a woman with a big heart who genuinely loves helping people.
We just decided:
“We’re doing this.”
And we did.
🎒 The best part was the kids
Kids don’t fake excitement.
So when you see them smiling, grabbing backpacks, looking at the supplies… you just feel good.
Not because you’re trying to be some hero.
But because you know it’s helping.
And honestly, it felt amazing seeing kids leave more prepared for school.
Like… that’s the kind of thing that sticks with you.
📍 Why Three Oaks Park was the perfect spot
Three Oaks Park is one of those places where everyone ends up.
Families.Kids.Neighbors.People walking around.
So doing it there made sense.
It wasn’t weird. It wasn’t awkward. It was just local.
It felt like something a community should have.
🌴 This is why I love living in Southwest Florida
Southwest Florida is growing like crazy.
But I hope we never lose the community side of it.
Because the truth is… the best neighborhoods aren’t always the newest ones.
The best ones are the ones where people still care about each other.
And this giveaway reminded me that San Carlos Park / Estero / Fort Myers still has that.

📍 If you live here, you get it
This is one of the reasons I’m proud to live in San Carlos Park.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because it still feels like a real neighborhood.
